Landscapes - The Apuan Quarries
...Luigi
Biagini's captures all this with his photographic eye
and in using black and white has certainly made the
right choice.
White is the Marble and white is the light that enhances
it; black is the shade not reached by light and where
the Apuan marble loses its most unmistakable feature.
In this volume, Biagini demonstrates that he is not
a passive and aseptic observer. His artistic sensibility
leads him to capture all the contradictions and complexity
of these landscapes, saturated with substance, light
and bitterness.
Landscapes in where a kind of metamaterial transposition
symbolically seems to become the precariousness of the
human condition....
